Friday, 26-10-2007, Renovation day 21

The bathroom floor is being prepared for the tiling. Cement was poured on to the floor and leveled off. It has to be dried before the tiling starts.

DH was in a stinking mood today. Finally, he blew his top at the manager of the project. DH had gone to him to enquire about the cupboard where the boiler was sitting in. It was promised to us way before the renovation started that the cupboard will be restored or fixed, whatever. So when DH asked him about the 2 planks that was supposed to go to the top and bottom of the cupboard, the manager casually told him to buy a new cupboard.

DH got enraged and blew his top. DH was further telling me that the manager was saying how he has to bring this up in the meeting and if waterweg wonen is willing to get someone to fix that. He was further calculating the time and money it costs them to get it fixed.

Eikel, I thought in my heart. We saved you maybe a thousand euros because we insisted on not changing our kitchen cabinets. We saved you money and workmanship on removing the old kitchen, hacking of the old tiles, clearing the kitchen of the rubble, we saved you money on the tiling of the walls, cleaning of the walls, installation of a new kitchen, the pipings, the water pipes, the painting or restoring of the walls to white colour etc etc etc, and finally someone coming in to clean the floor. That's about 5 working days and he dares to bring up the fact of how much it will cost them for 2 planks and maybe half hour job. This is ridiculous.

The vensterbank for the window was finally restored. Remember it was taken out due to the piping leakage. What about that, the leaking of water that destroyed our laminaat floors. Eikel.

Friday nite we had leftover chicken sambal for dinner. For the rest we rested. Really Tired. Actually we are still recovering from the flu and cough.
