Used Car

It was a small town and the patrolman was making his evening rounds. As he was checking a used car lot, he came upon two little old ladies sitting in a used car. He stopped and asked them why they were sitting there in the car. Were they trying to steal it?

"Heavens no, we bought it."

"Then why don't you drive it away."

"We can't drive."

"Then why did you buy it?"

"We were told that if we bought a Used car here, we'd get screwed.....so we're just waiting.

Photos of Days Gone By

Sunday, August 20, 2006
After nearly a week feeling really lousy, with headaches everyday, yesterday culminated into the most miserable day in such a long long time. I did two things though and that was to start the blog and snap some pictures. Was it a good idea, I don't know. I do want my family, friends, relatives and especially my wonderful nieces and nephews to read me and see what goes on with me. Today was a near miserable day for me. I had bad sleep last nite. Kept regretting alot of things I had done these past two months or so. What was I thinking of. What was I hoping for. Get real San. To and fro my mind was going on and on about some things. I have to stop this kind of thinking, it's making me feel miserable. I woke up feeling no enthusiasm for today. Do I have to face the world I ask myself. Yes, you have to San. Do I have choices. Yes. I have two choices. I can choose to be happy or choose to be miserable. (I now realise that me feeling this lousy was actually my PMS rearing it's ugly head)

DH was enthusiastic about my blog page. Yeah, big deal. He wanted to have more photos in. Most of our photos were gone when our system crashed. So, he was busy scanning some of the photos. He said he also wanted to put my photos on CD and that I could watch it on TV. Yeah big deal. Truth is, that is what I wanted for a long long time. Do we have to do it today. Yeah, we are free this weekend, what better time to do. Okay. So, I got out my albums and went thru it. I don't like my feelings. I was nearly in tears seeing pictures of my family, my dad and mom, my siblings whom I am loosing one by one to death. Pictures of my youth, my working life, my friends, good friends then. The holidays, the beach. Ohh how I long to go home now. How I long to go back to my family and friends. They are the reality.

I could just call up Su, and she will straightaway take time off and come be with me. We would have talked, cried and laughed out our feelings. I miss my best friend Su, she accepted me exactly the way I was, I could be just me. We have known each other for 26 years now. We have been a part of each other's life thru all the good times and bad times, thru the laughter and the tears, thru good health and in bad. She never judged me nor condemned me, she accepted me. We did have some disagreements though but it always ended up fine, because there was love. Unconditional love. I love you Su and I miss you so much right now.

Back to the photos. I was young and beautiful then. DH says I am still beautiful now. Yeah but I was beautiful then. What is outward beauty. It's just my shell. Someday that will have to die. It's what within me that matters. I cried and my wonderful Junior as usual straightaway jumped onto my lap and licked my tears away. ohh how I love him so.

So, I shall have the photos on CD and shall make a copy for my niece. Photo Albums are such bulky things, collecting dust and turning yellow with age. I like the technology that man has invented to make everything easy. It's good. However, I dislike scanning or waiting while it scans. It feels like I can smoke a whole stick of cigarette just waiting.

I took my purple pants out and wore it, it didn't fit good. I want to unpick that and do something about it. So, I sat unpicking the stitches. It did soothe me somewhat. Handwork seems to soothe me.

Tante Til came knocking on the door and gave us Gado Gado. Oh fantastic !! So today is one dinner I don't have to cook. I really didn't feel like cooking or being in the kitchen today. Thank God for Tante Til. I shall someday take photos of Tante Til and do a post on her. I love that dear old woman. Maybe I will go have coffee with her tonite. Talking to her always makes me happy. Yep. She is so uplifting, so full of life, full of energy, even at this age of 83. I have never in my 5 years here seen her upset or depressed (except for the time when her sister passed away). She is always happy.

I bought some picture frames last week from Kringloop (the second hand shop), I love wooden frames. I think I would get myself busy framing some pictures up. Which means that DH will have to knock some nails to the wall. No, he doesn't knock nails, he drills holes with his boormachine. Pffff, that's going to make noise and furthermore the dust. Tomorrow then. There I go again procrastinating.

It's good this, writing on a blog. I do feel kind of relieved within me. I shall go visit Tante Til now. oh another thing, I don't know why but I have been humming this song the whole day, I'm a big big girl in a big big world .............. I chose to hum, because I can't sing. Some years ago, I used to sing in the bathroom, loudly, and DH was saying how I should sing infront of an audience. I said *Really*...... he said, yeah, why not. We can organise something, book a place, give out tickets, and get people come to hear me sing. There is however one hitch to that. We give the tickets out to only the deaf people. Rascal you I thought. I go now.
